Reviews
We went on two tours with Agnes in December 2019: on the first day Sterkfontein Caves + Voortrekker Monument + Pretoria and, on the second day, Soweto and Nelson Mandela's... read more House. We had limited time, so we asked Agnes to arrange something for us in line with what we most wanted to see.
Agnes was a great guide. She explained the attractions and sites to us from an historical, factual perspective, but also we had great chats about life in South Africa in general.
Agnes was extremely friendly. When she dropped us off at the airport for our flight home, we were having such a good time that we really didn't want our holiday to end. We can recommend Agnes with absolutely no hesitation. The places that we visited were great and Agnes was excellent company as we drove around for several hours on both days.
A few practical tips:
- Nelson Mandela's house is small and they offer an official tour that lasts for about 15-20 minutes. There's no need to spend too much time there. Outside there are shops and restaurants.
- The Voortrekker Monument offers a great view of Pretoria. You could spend hours here if you're interested in the history and want to read about all the exhibits. Otherwise, 60 minutes should suffice.
- The Union Building at Pretoria has a giant statue of Nelson Mandela - great for photos.
- The tour of Soweto was really informative. We visited many different parts, ranging from a rich suburb called Beverly Hills to a much poorer area where we were able to visit a local family. This is something that many travellers do not experience.
The Johannesburg/Pretoria area has a lot of different attractions, and a tour with Agnes is a great way to get around the region easily and quickly to visit the various sites.

I feel horrible that here it is 7 months later and I am just writing this review. Rudy I do apologize!
Let me say that this tour was the... read more highlight of our trip. A group of 7 of us travelled to SA to celebrate my 30th birthday. We visited Johannesburg and Cape Town. We did several other excursions (with other companies) and tours but this was hands down the best! From booking (their website is easy to use and the tour description is exactly how the day went but ten times better, a quick email and we were confirmed) to the day of the tour(right down to the drive back to our accommodations) EVERYTHING was perfect. We felt safe (this was major as we were a group of all females) we had plenty of laughs, the van was clean and spacious, we engaged with locals and experienced authentic culture. Rudy seemed to know everyone as we travelled throughout the day. He made sure all our needs were met he was caring, pleasant, he made us feel comfortable and most of all we could tell her really cared about all everything he was telling us an ensured we had the best tour experience. The Kliptown Youth Program visit was AMAZING, this program is doing great work! It’s a must see. The children were so happy. We stopped to get food after the Mandela House and Rudy gave us options to stop, we ended up going with the traditional restaurant that offered buffet style, the food was good the whole group was impressed. By the end of the day I wished I had booked everything with Rudy he’s amazing super friendly and knew his stuff. I will be in SA again at some point in life and will certainly book with Felleng Tours again, and would recommend them to any and everyone for ANY of the services they offer, I promise you won’t be disappointed. They are very accommodating. It was great meeting you Rudy, thanks for everything!
